5. Michelle of Honest and Truly
7. Stephanie of Manic Mommy
9. Yvette of Hot Chica in Me
10. Kelly Jean aka Coffee Bean of The Righteous Buzz

There, hope everyone is having a great Tuesday so far.  I got the child off to school and the hubby off to work.  Already have the dishes done and the counters wiped down.
Right now I'm having a bit of 'me' time.  Today I plan on making some pumpkin bread, jell-o,
and I think I'm going to make a meatloaf for dinner.  So I'll be having some major kitchen time.

Our family time in the evening right now is being spent working on Nicoles 3D replica of the Alamo.  It will count as a test grade in social studies and then the one page report that is to accompany it is a writing grade.   Will take and post a pic of the finished project.  We are having some fun working on it.

So, ya'll come back now ya hear!

Walk Like An Egyptian

Howdy to all out there in blog land.  Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.
Me? it was ok.  If you read the last few days I was really excited about going to see the King Tut and the Golden Age of the Pharoahs exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Things from every angle tried to get us NOT to go.

First - Chris had to work the weekend we had orginally planned on going ( the weekend of his birthday - the 21st/22nd)

Second - after we planned on going the next weekend ( this one) , and my MIL was supposed to come up and go with us , and celebrate Chris' bday then, she gets sick.  Now she is feeling a teensy bit better, but with the weather being what it is supposed to be this weekend, she would get worse, so she decided not to come. Can't really blame her there...

Third - we invite Nicoles BFF Carson to go in my MIL's place.  She is excited.  We get her home from school with Nicole this past Friday and the girls play good and chatter nonstop.  We get Italian take out from my favorite restaurant Roma's and Carson wanted Shrimp Alfredo.  She gets it, eats all the shrimp, a few alfredo noodles and some of the bread that came with it.
About an hour later she says her tummy hurts.  Nothing ever winds up coming up or out but by 10:30 that night her dad came and got her.  She was over tired , and hungry.

We weren't mad at her , but really didn't want that ticket to go to waste.  So at 6:30 Saturday morning I called my mom to see if she wanted to come with us.  We would have use of her truck, the ticket wouldn't go to waste, and I'd get to see my mom before she jets off to California with her sister next week.

She agrees, saying she really hadn't wanted to see it, but decides it might be kind of neat.
We finally get out there.  Our tickets said we couldn't enter the exhibit until 10am.  We get in there around 945.  They said we could get in line - no problem  On the way to the entrance to the exhibit, we get stopped by a guy trying to get us into the Egypt 3D movie that is 30 mins long and in his words " a good way to start the exhibit"   We agree and get charged 5 dollars a person to see a 30 minute movie...

It was pretty cool I will admit - then we get ushered into line for the exhibit.  Only now we are fighting for room in line with the 1030/1100am entries.   Also, they are renting  'audio tours' for seven dollars.  No thank you - we can read what all the stuff is.  Oh yeah, forgot to mention the 15 dollars they charged us to park...

I did have my leg braces on, my mom didn't.  The exhibit was 12 galleries large.  Took us 2 hrs to get through.  My mom and I also get very unsteady in the dark, due to the CMT.  Several of the galleries were dark , save for the light in the cases with the pure gold artifacts.  We held onto each other for dear life.  We wobbled but didn't fall down ( YAY)

We really enjoyed it, but geesh.  By the end of the exhibit Chris wondered what the $20 tickets were actually for.  Getting jostled around? having to fight to view the cases? ( the people with the audio tours would stand RIGHT in front of the show cases and look at it, not bothering to move their butts so anyone else could see...)   He was amazed we didn't have to pay to pee...

Then we get to the gift shop - you know, the giant money sucker extrodinaire.
I promised Carson we would get her something since she didn't get to go with us.  She had left the $10 with me that she had brought.  We wound up getting her and Nicoles names written in hieroglyphs,  like they would have written on their cartouche.  We came away from there with a few little memories.

Then we went out to dinner which was another $50 bucks. /sigh   the whole weekend just sucked money! We watched it fly thru our fingers and don't have much to show for it.
Yes we had a good time being together.
Yes we had good food at Chili's .
Yes we will never get to experience the King Tut artifacts again .
BUT, I'm with Chris, I don't see what the tickets actually entitled us to.  Normally we can walk and read for free...

Was right about not being able to take pictures inside the museum, so sorry about that!
Gotta work all day tomorrow, subbing for 6th grade - that should be interesting:))

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Fantastic Friday

Wow, lots of things are happening this weekend and I'm looking forward to them all! I have also come across two fabulous links that I will be sharing with you here!

FIRST - my friend Christina of Rant-Rave-Roll has become an ambassador for a wonderful thing called Fishful Thinking - Please CLICK HERE to check our her post on this fabulous project!

SECOND - my friend Maria of God's Blessings has an adorable boy named Matthew , and he has Cerebral Palsy.  Her husband is in the Army and they are stationed in San Antonio ( so hopefully I will get to meet her one day since we go there to visit my MIL).  Maria's bright, cheerful, upbeat words are a welcome in times of grief and /or bad days.  She has two other children , Alex and Joshua, in addition to Matthew and is full of love .
She recently came across a project that I would love to share with ya'll.  It is called The Littlest Heroes.  CLICK HERE to check them out!

This weekend is going to bring about a flurry of activity.  Carson ( Nicole's BFF) ,  is coming home with her from school today, spending the night , then the four of us are heading to the museum tomorrow to see King Tut and the Golden Age of the Pharohs.
My MIL was supposed to go with us, but she is unable to come up due to her struggle with bronchitis that she has battled this past week.  We will be catching the train into Dallas, and will walk about a block and a half to the museum from the station, then find some place around there to eat too.
All sounds like a blast right?
well, it will be, and with all the temps we've had the past few weeks, Mother Nature chooses this saturday to bring winter back to Texas... /sigh
so we will just have to bundle up , but it is supposed to be windy and cold, high is 51.  yippee...

I'm looking at it as just taking a nice cool brisk walk:))

Will try to take pictures , I know we will be unable to take pictures inside the exhibit , but maybe I can get pics of the museum itself and stuff.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Spring Storms and the Fujita Scale

Before I get into todays post , I have to say thank you to Renee for awarding me this cute award!

I have to pass this on to 10 other bloggy friends, which I will think hard on and do tomorrow.

_____________________________

Okies, for todays post.  ANYONE that has read my blog for a while knows that I am scared to death of thunderstorms.  Specifically  ones that produce supercells, which can and do lead to tornadoes.

I am fine with light rain, and can sleep peacefully.  Even a mild thunderstorm that has no possibility of producing tornadoes.

The reason I am bringing this up today is it is raining.  It is also starting tornado season here in the midst of tornado alley.  For those of you not familiar with the term, Tornado Alley refers to a particular area of the states that is more likely than most to get tornadoes.  This is the area highlighted in yellow.

Knowing this scares the crap out of me.  Now I am NOT neurotic enough to think I'm going to get struck during a nomal storm.  What we look for when we have bad storms, are wall clouds OR see the sky turning green. The air is also very sticky and there is NO wind.  If you have ever seen the movie Twister when the character Bill is looking at the sky and says " going green' hes not kidding.  The sky takes on this eerie gray greenish color before going almost black when a tornado is a comin'.

I currently live in an area that has been hit by tornadoes.  Its been a while , but memories still abound.  Two F3 tornadoes touched down during one particularly bad storm in 1992. ( you can Google Lancaster Texas Tornadoes - 1992).   There was only one death in our actual small part of town - an old man that walked outside afterwards , saw the damage to the town he had lived in all his life and had a heartattack.

Not too long after we moved here there were some bad storms around and I had to go to the store.  Chris told me to hurry.  While I was at the store he called and said to hurry home, tornadoes were popping and it was moving our way.  I paid for the few groceries, and as I got to my car in the parking lot the sirens went off.  I freaked.

I threw the groceries in the car and ran my butt back into the store.  That poor manager on duty was trying to keep everyone calm and I was the loon following him around like a scared puppy.
Nothing actually came down in our area, so I took off for home as quick as I could and called Chris to tell him to have the door open, I was on my way home.  We were still under a tornado warning, but the sirens had died down.  As I was turning onto our street the sirens went off again.  OH. MY . GOD.  I was scared to death.  He met me outside , got the bags out of the car and they went into the bath tub with us until they sounded the all clear.

There have been bathroom shuffles in the middle of the night.  The middle bathroom in our house that has no walls on the outside of the house is not that big.  But we sit in the tub or on the closed toilet lid .. my bird in her cage is on the floor and the dogs are in there with us and our radio.

I just pray that nothing bad happens this tornado season, in our town or anyone elses.

I am unable to post the actual Fujita Scale - none of them would copy correctly.  Please click HERE to see exactly what it is, if you are unfamiliar with it.

Have a great day!

Check Me Out!

Good Monday Afternoon to everyone, hope all is going well.

After yesterday's ( or rather lastnights ) ranting and raving post I have calmed down a bit.  I was able to get out of the house , which even to go to work was great in my book.  Had a good and totally busy day at work which was fine with me - better than sitting home on my butt!

I read and appreciated ALL of your comments regarding that post and it helps to know that I'm not alone in that area.  We all have our moments.  Some more than others.

My day got better when I came home, logged into my dashboard and realized that my interview that was sent to me by my friend Michelle at SoS was published today! I was her featured mommy blogger on her Monday segment of MoBlogMo  ( Mommy Blogger Monday)!

I haven't yelled today which is a good thing, lets hope that I continue with self restraint and good judgement.  I am off scheduled work until Thursday unless I get called in on an emergency basis.
More cleaning tomorrow, but now that I at least got out of the house I should be just fine:))

OL' YELLER

Yuppers folks, thats me.  Not all the time mind you but it fits.  Sometimes.

I have always tried to keep my blog upbeat.  Sometimes I've been sad, or upset, but I'm pretty sure I've never let loose totally.  Afraid that I might hurt someones feelings, offend someone in my family or whatever.  Well, ya know what? right now I don't give a rats ass!

Only some people in my family know this, and one or two friends, but back in '02/'03 alot of crap went down seemingly all at once that threw me into a depression.  Stress + Depression does not a happy person make.  I was not easy to be around.  The stress of a toddler wasn't helping much.  I yelled.  Alot.  After one particularly bad night Chris and I came to the realization that I needed a counselor, help of some sort.  I cried most of that night, and most of the next day.  I went to work and weepingly told my boss I needed help and that I was making an appointment with a counselor for that day and leaving work to go.  She did not have a problem with it, seeing as I was trying to gulp air in between sobs the whole time we talked.

I found a very nice counselor close to my work, that accepted my insurance that could get me in that day.  I spent the next hour crying some more, but she helped me calm down some.  She pointed out that I start worrying about something small, then chew on it, distort it and make it seem so much bigger than it was when the original problem popped up.  Most of it was unchangeable, and therefore there was nothing I could do about it.  I needed to stop worrying about it so much.  About the yelling, well , I grew up with a lot of it.

Some people in my family know about this, and my BFF.  Yes my parents were together my whole life, and I had a relatively happy childhood,  but my dad yelled ALOT.  I DID NOT want to continue this with my own family. However, at that point in my life, it seemed like that was the only volume I had  -  loud and bitchy.  I did not and still don't want Nicole to grow up yelling at her kids.

I KNOW everyone yells once in a while.  I'm not talking about occasionally getting upset, I'm talking about getting downright snippy at every little thing.  The kiddo and/or hubby didn't do something that you asked or expected and WHAM, off ya go.  Most of the time I hear myself doing this and still can't stop.  If I do calm down somewhat , I still am snippy, which still isn't good.  I feel like my apologies will start to fall on deaf ears after a while, and be meaningless.

What set this off you ask?  You,  faithful friends and followers know that I totalled our ONLY car a week ago Friday.  Friday the 13th to be exact.  This was also our spring break week.  Nicole went to my moms.... me? I stayed home and cleaned.  Fun fun and more freaking fun...
Nicole came home Thursday because she had an appointment with the eye doctor ( she doesn't need glasses! woohoo) but I digress...
I had started in the living room, then moved on to the kitchen, then to the den.  It was starting to sparkle and I was quite pleased with my efforts.  Then Nicole came home, and it was her suitcase here, her shoes there... books here, generalized  miscellaneaous stuff everywhere else.  Not home 24hrs and although not back to the mess I cleaned up, there was stuff around that SHOULD have been picked up and wasn't.  Friday she helped me a little bit, but not much.

Saturday was the day we were supposed to tackle her room.  Although positive I wouldn't get eaten by some unknown force living in her dungeon of a room, it was still pretty messed up and was going to need work.  For one reason or another she wound up helping me MAYBE 30-45 mins and that was it.  Then she was off to spend the night with her BFF Carson.
Today was  Chris' 41st bday - he mowed the back lawn and I got in her room for maybe  another 30 mins.  After cleaning one room or another all week I wanted a little down time so I figured she could work on it a little bit when she came home.

When she did come home I told her - 30 mins of reading her book for school, 30 mins in her room.  One hour.  Sixty minutes.  For the love of all that is good and Holy, you would have thought I took away every remaining free minute she had today minus dinnertime and chained her to slavery.  ( can you imagine the big vein starting to throb in my temple? )

What she actually wound up doing was emptying her bag from her trip to Carsons and putting everything away and reading for maybe 20 mins.  /sigh.  Then I made Spaghetti for dinner.  I used Ragu sauce which is good.  She said it didn't look like the brand I normally used and judged it before ever even trying it.  Then I dished up her plate.  Some of the butter that was on the noodles mixed with the spaghetti sauce.  Right away - " mommy ewwww, look what is coming out of the sauce..."  Again, she had yet to even try it.  Chris explained to her what it was, but watching during dinner, she didn't eat half of what I gave her.  grrrrrrrrr

We sat down as a family and talked a little bit, I explained why I was so downright mad.  Chris pointed out I had a right to get a bit upset but not actually mad.  Ok, maybe he's right.  I just don't want to start being so snippy again that I wind up back where I was 6 years ago.  I can't do that!  I like my job, have a roof over my head, food to eat, a loving husband, and a beautiful daughter.  My mom is still alive and I have a wonderful relationship with her, I get along great with my MIL..  I have a ton of other little things to be thankful for too.

I needed to get that out.  I'm not really sorry if this isn't the normal tone of my blog but I needed an outlet and this is as good as any:))  I'm not a crazy person, just a slightly stressed mom that doesn't want to yell anymore.
Any books that someone can suggest?  Maybe you've experienced something similar? Any positive suggestions will be welcomed!

Good night...

Birthday Wishes

Today is officially the first anniversary of Chris' 40th birthday!
In case you haven't picked up on this in the last year, I'm totally in love with this man! He is sweet, thoughtful, smart, and not to mention SEXY as ever!
Sometimes he says he feels like he's over 100 due to his back problems, but he still works just as hard as ever!
Happy Birthday Sweetheart, I LOVE YOU!!

bLaSt FrOm ThE pAsT

About a month or so ago my cousin Marie e-mailed me some OLD photos of me. I'm talking from when I was like 5 I think. We still lived in Chicago at this time and my great Aunt and Uncle were visiting.

Enjoy - I sure got a kick out of them!

Ok, this one is a little bit hard to make out, but from l-r is my Great Aunt Millie , my mom holding our dog Snoopy, my dad holding me and then my Great Uncle Frank.

And this was me! Aren't I cute? lol I wish my hair was still that blond, and my skin that clear.

Now this picture of Nicole is about a few months ago, but do you think she looks like me? if not let me know! I will then try to post a childhood pic of Chris for your examination, :))

Before Twilight

Something just occurred to me late the other night.  I was doing some late channel surfing and came across an entertainment news show highlighting Sarah Michelle Geller.

It reminded me that when she was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she too was in love with a very hot vampire.  BEFORE Bella fell head over heels for Edward.

Now I haven't read the entire Twilight series, BUT I loved the first book and fully intend to read the rest very soon.  I've resisted watching the movie yet until I've read them all, although I know they are making movies for all the books like they did for Harry Potter.

Heres Bella and Edward

Here's Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Here is Angelus aka Angel
True that Bella is not on the hunt to kill others like Edward, and Buffy was.  Angel also used to not kill people for food, until he and Buffy hooked up under the sheets one night.
This was an awesome show for those who didn't watch it, or for those who don't remember it.
And just fyi - the man that played Angelus ( David Boreanaz is HOT - whether in vampire form or NOT!)
Who remembers this and liked enough to follow it?

Shivering Shamrocks

You all know I usually don't post twice in one day, however I thought this short story would be totally appropriate for today!

In March of 1998, when I was just 4-5 weeks pregnant with Nicole I was in a St. Patricks Day parade.  The bellydancing troupe I was with was one of the acts in the parade.
The parade was going to get cancelled if it dropped below 40 degrees, or rained more.
All of our costumes had to be in shades of green, white, gold, and silver.
It was 42 degrees and misty.
Not ideal parade conditions.
It was supposed to be a 2.5 mile march through lower greenville in Dallas.  They have this huge parade every year.
We were to wear either sandals or little slippers.  I wore white ballet type slippers with my teal green costume that had a ton of biddy bells on it.  You could hear me coming a mile away.

The parade was loud, and a ton of fun.  However, being that newly pregnant I was exhausted at the end , and cold.

The funniest part of this story is when I got home, my Uncle Dave ( who passed away two weeks before Nicole was born) called and asked me how the parade was.  I told him it went great, but was cold.
He asked me if they had Bellydancers in Ireland. I said probably, but not as a traditional dance.  He said the thought of 50+ bellydancers , going down the street gave a whole new meaning to the term "shaking shamrocks"!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Well i'm up quite early and not yet wearing green.  That is because I'm going back to bed:))  I got up to pack my hubby a lunch and I'm not staying up.  Spring Break, no kiddo for a few days! Don't you think I deserve to go crawl back in bed for a teensy bit? I sure do!

Will check in with ya'll later on today.  For now, enjoy this doodle:

You can find this and more  by visiting RICK

Have a great day!

Spring Break but NOT Spring

Well Spring Break officially started Friday at 12:31 pm.  ( although with all the rain and fog and cold, it doens't feel like spring has srpung!)  It was going well until the car accident.  I am feeling alot better, can move around without groaning and Nicole is doing fine.
Saturday my mom came and took me to the grocery store for a few things, then took Nicole home with her until Thursday.

That is when I get to take Nicole to get her eyes checked.  She is complaining she cant see stuff far away.  I got my first pair of glasses at 10, so we just have to wait and see.

I'm glad Nicole is getting some Grandma time, which she loves.  She would be boared stiff being here with me all week.  I plan on spring cleaning - woohoo - go me:)

So Chris wouldn't have to walk to the bus stop, his best friend lent him her daughters car while she is in London.  On the condition that I don't drive it.  Fine with me, because at this moment in time I don't  feel like driving, lol.  He isn't going to drive it much either - just back and forth to the bus stop.

After I finish this post and check Facebook I plan on attacking my living room.  Gotta sweep floors, vacuum the couch, and dust.  then I get to attack the kitchen, and the den.  Then Nicoles room -  which should be more fun that I'm allowed in one day.

I will post the pics of the car when I want to see them.  I haven't seen it since Saturday.  I did have the piece of mind to take pics of her cars damage as well as mine.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Crash, Bang, Boom

Yesterday it was rainy and nasty here.  Had rained for almost two days, everything soaked and whatnot.  I went to pick a friend of ours up who doens't have a car and take him to run an errand or two.
I hate driving in the rain, but it was just aroudn town so I thought no problem:) WRONG!

As I was pulling out of the parking lot, we got hit.  The back end of our car - well lets just say , the rear drivers side tire is now UNDER the car, and the back drivers side door is pushed in and up, leaving a gaping hole.   Nicole and I are ok, and Chris will call Kenneth this morning to make sure he is ok.  His glasses seemed to have cute his face right between the eyes, but other than a headached he seemed to be fine.

We've already talked to the insurance company , so that part is being taken care of.  Just still a bit shaken up and sad, but otherwise ok.  Nicole and I took some Tylenol before going to bed so we wouldn't wake up very sore.

Hope everyone elses weekend started out better than mine.

For those of you who saw this on Facebook lastnight, thank you for your prayers and concern and well wishes.

The Human Body

Okies folks, it is once again time to post a funny e-mail I have received!
Men and women alike will LOVE this one:

Human Body Statistics

It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.

One human hair can support 3 kg (6 lb).

The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.

Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.
( oh, so its actually the fat around the thighs that makes it difficult to crush anything harder than a twinkie...)

A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.

There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.
(Oh, I thought it was just being in hot sweaty shoes all day that made them smell funky)

Women blink twice as often as men.

The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.

Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.

If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.
( ooh, then I wish it couldn't dissolve brussel sprouts!)

Women reading this will be finished now.

Men who read this are still busy checking their thumbs!!

Clarifiction

If any of you follow me on Facebook and saw my status update late lastnight , I would like to vent my reason for it.
Yesterday I was off work so Chris took the car instead of having to ride the bus.  I was fine with that.  My plan was to have dinner made by the time he got home around 6pm or so and to leave immediately when he got home so I could go to Walmart.  I needed to pick up bread, my prescription and get a few things I needed to bake today.
First I stopped at the gas station to feed the car since it was thirsty.  Then I got to Walmart and went straight to the pharmacy.  There were 3-4 people ahead of me.  Having been in this position before, I've learned this could take 5 mins or 50 mins...I was hoping for 5!

I got up to the register in a decent amount of time, gave the lady my name and DOB.
She then asked me when I called it in.  I told her Saturday afternoon and the automated system told me it would be ready by 3pm Sunday.  She told me one moment and went to another computer.  I waited.

The other cashier helped a few more people and I was still waiting.  I was watching the lady who was supposedly helping me.  She was on the computer quite awhile.  Then she talked to the pharmacist.  Then she went and got a bottle of pills.  Then she talked to the pharmacist some more.  I was still waiting with no explanation as to why???!!!!!????

The other cashier could sense my frustration by now and said she would go see what was going on.  She talked for a few minutes.  I noticed MY cashier helping someone else at the drop off window ok WTH??  Finally the other one came walking back my way shaking her head and giggling a bit.  Still wasn't coming to me, so I  asked her," M'am, what is happening with my prescription? why is it not ready?"
She explained to me that it had been reshelved.  They had a new morning cashier and I guess she mis -heard that you reshelf scripts after 2 days, instead of the 10 that it should have been.  So since I was supposed to pick it up Sunday and it was Tuesday , she actually returned my Rx to the stock.  Ok.  Fine.

BUT WHY NOT TELL ME THAT IN THE FIRST FREAKIN' PLACE INSTEAD OF MAKING ME STAND THERE????/ARGH!!!!!!!!!
where the he!! has basic customer service and common sense gone??? is the customer not supposed to be kept informed?   I failed to mention that by now there was no one at the checkout stand to check anyone else out, so I had a line forming behind me and could feel the glares of them on my back because I was the one holding them up!!!

I needed other things as I had mentioned, so the decent thing to do would have been to explain the situation to me so I could have gone and gotten the other things I needed and come back.  I really would have been fine with it , but no, they made me stand there totally clueless!

Needless to say by the time I got around to getting the few groceries I needed I was not in a good mood.  I didn't have my braces on, so all that standing in one place , then hauling ass to the groceries did not make me very happy.  I'm over it now, but I needed to get it out of my system.

Have you run into people recently that don't use the common sense that God gave a gnat? please tell me and make me feel like I'm not the only one noticing this!

Shake Your Money Maker!

Woot! I'm so excited that Dancing With The Stars started lastnight.  I'm a tad bit shocked at the lineup, but all in all I think everyone gave it their all , at least for their first dance.  I think Ty Murray needs to loosen up a bit from the waist up, he doesn't have to keep a ramrod straight back since he isn't trying to be bucked off a humongous bull or anything...
Melissa from the Bachelor didn't do too bad having had only 48 hours to prepare.  I think that says a lot for one of my favorite professional dancers Tony Dovolani.
L'il Kim did eh.  I'll agree with Bruno though that she can shake that booty.
Shawn Johnson did fantastic! I absoultely love watchng her partner, Mark Balas.  I could watch him dance all the time:))
I'm sorry Jewel couldn't dance due to her fractured tibias, but I'm glad they will at least let her sing in the upcoming weeks.
How many men that actually watch the show ( my hubby included) cried a bit inside when they announced Julianna Hough was dating that fine specimen she was dancing with?
and what is up with Karina Smirnoff? I've never been one of her biggest fans, but she is engaged to Maxsim?  I think she has dated everyone of her partners, including Mario Lopez.
The other big surprise was Holly  - a Playboy Bunny! - she did ok too.  Her and Edyta can compete for the skimpiest costume contest.
But we all have our favorites, and who we want to see win.  Nicole likes Edyta ( always interesting to see what costume she comes up with), and I like Cheryl - shes a good dancer and I think she is a strong teacher.
Everyone really did do a good job for the first dance.  I bet it is absolute hell to be the first dancer out for the night.

I'm hoping to have a great day off.  The crazy Texas weather is at it again.  It is supposed to be in the low 80s today, then drop into the 40s by tonight, and barely get into the 50s tomorrow! Insanity I tell you, pure insanity!

Weekend O' Weekend

It was a nice , quiet weekend.  It is still in progress but I don't expect much else to be a'happenin' any time soon.
I was off work Friday, and while wondering what to do  the dogs started going crazy.  I glanced at the clock and it was around time for the mail so I went to check and lo and behold I received my prize package from Queenie Jeannie! It had three movies in it , candy and popcorn.  Wow, there was my answer.  Then I went to put a movie in and the DVD started acting up so I took my bag of popcorn and went and logged into the computer.
I wound up watching The Nanny Diaries yesterday, which I had not previously seen.  Everyone in the house was still asleep so I truly got to enjoy the movie plopped on my bed with one of the dogs and a bowl of frosted flakes:)

Yesterday Nicole and I went and did some errands in the morning then came home and did a few chores aroudn the house.  I did two loads of laundry and then that was it.  I planned on finishing the rest Sunday.  This is my big laundry weekend, where in addition to clothes I do all the bedsheets and such.  What I've washed so far is already hung up and put away. (YAY ME)

I am excited about one thing though.  Friday night we purchased tickets to go see the King Tut exhibit at the Dallas Museum.  We will be going on Saturday the 28th, and my MIL will be coming up to go see it with us, and we found out that Chris' cousin Heather and her daughter Berkley will be coming too! So that weekend I will have a houseful since everyone seems to be staying here!  This will be alot of fun.  We haven't seen Heather and Berkley since around the time Chris' grandfather passed away in November.

I work Monday, Thursday and Friday this week.  The kids get out at 12:30pm  Friday since that is the beginning of their spring break.  This is the week Nicole and I will be doing spring cleaning.  That way the house will be sooo clean when everyone comes the next friday!  We will also be going to the movies and out to lunch with my mom that week.  Maybe Nicole can stay with my mom a few days that week!  have to check into that...

Well I hope everyone is having a great weekend also and I will catch up with everyone tomorrow afternoon after work or Tuesday morning:)

It's a Friday:)

I was off work today so I thought I'd get a bit of house cleaning done. I am happy to announce that I did, including scrubbing toilets - what a blast!
Since it was so pretty outside I also decided to take the dogs for a small walk. We can't go very far since my older dog Cooper has trouble walking. She also only has one eye and is mostly blind in it, but she does well on a leash so I like to take her out for a bit of exercise.
I also took some pictures of our beautiful blue sky. It is currently 80 degrees, the first week of March. It has snowed here in March before , and it is also the beginnings of storm season, so from day to day no telling what its going to be like here.
Here is the pretty sky, along with a neighboring tree and part of my driveway:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Earworm Insanity

I have an earworm.  Not sure what an earworm is? Its a song that you can't get out of your head.  One that makes you want to turn your head on its side and bang the song out.
This is my earworm, and has been off and on since I first saw it!
UGH Bang bang is right  - I'd like to bang bang the ad agency that came up with this one.  Although I like Hillshire farms smoked sausage, this is NOT making me want to buy their lunchmeat anymore...

A Baby Blanket, A Chowhound; and Other Assorted Pictures

1. Ok, the baby blanket I have been working on for Peach is ready and here it is ! I wish you could feel just how soft it is. Isn't it pretty? I feel such an accomplishment when I finish something like this - it just overwhelms me:)

Here it is:

Here is the hat - I know I said I wasn't going to post it, but isn't it adorable?

nuther pic of the blankie

2. Chowhounds - So you're not sure what they are? well here is one captured in captivity -

Behold the Chowhound...

Chowhounds come in all shapes and sizes. They seem to live well in captivity, although they can wreak a bit of havoc. I caught this particular chowhound this morning, trying to knock over my kitchen trashcan while I was in the other room. It was trying to get at remnants of something I had made for Nicoles lunch this morning, as well as a papertowel that had soaked up some grease from breakfast sausage.

They can be friendly or not. This particular one is very sweet, but if shes done wrong she will sneak around you trying to be cute.

So do you have a Chowhound around your house?

By the way... they can also pose as teenage children - boys or girls.

3. Random Pics

I mentioned that my phone is now incapable of taking pictures, due to my keeping it near the sink when I did dishes, or on the sink when I took a steamy shower. I am thankful that Nicoles phone is identical to mine so I am using it currently as my picture taker.

I looked at some pictures that she had on her phone , and they are interesting...

This looks like a chowhound, but isn't. Cute though, isn't she?

Nicole , the little Diva! I think one of her friends took this at the UIL competition awhile back.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Monday!
