Hiyas all! For those of you that have been wondering about my mom...
She went through the heart catheter fine on Tuesday morning. The same place that has been blocked the last two times was blocked again this time. So they added yet another stint, and did a balloon up into the artery to reopen it. So that makes a total of 8 stints, and 3 angioplasty since her triple bypass in 2005. She is doing well and got out of the hospital on Wednesday morning. She is staying with my aunt Donna for about the next week to week and a half and I have her dog back. I promise to have a picture of him with my two up soon. They make a really cute motley crew, or a trouble trio, lol. They are loud!! And meal time is alot of fun... They fight and growl to make sure they don't touch each others bowls.
Well I'm off to my weight watchers meeting, and I smell a small bit of success, so wish me luck.

Star Light, Star Bright
A star I hope I don't see tonight...
Recently while searching through Youtube videos, Nicole and I wanted to see if there were any videos on Space ( you know the planets, and such), and we came across this video. After hearing this it will make you think twice about what kind of 'star' you may actually be wishing upon...
More later, with an update on my mom...

Later That Same Day
(Yay! I'm starting to feel a tiny bit better!!)
I know I posted something already today, but just received the following pictures from the mother of one of Nicole's friends. Nicole went home from school yesterday with her friend Carson, on the understanding that she would be coming home around 8pm, however about a half hour before Chris went to pick her up she called with "Can I spend the night?" Of course it was agreed to and Chris drove over there with her nightgown and 4 dolls that she wanted Carson to see.
Carson's mother assured me that Nicole was being polite and that the girls were getting along well. We could pick her up around 2pm Saturday.
Chris went to get her and it turned into "Can I stay over again tonight daddy?" So of course another discussion ensued and was agreed over. Now we won't get her back until after Church tomorrow. Yvette(Carson's) mother told me that the girl's were wearing each others clothes and even switched pajamas last night, lol.
I just opened my e-mail, to find this caption - "Marcy, here is the proof that Nicole is still alive"
Here are the pictures of her fun weekend with Carson so far:

Good Laugh
Good Morning All!! I'm home sick with an upper respiratory thing, so not feeling real great today. I wanted to post something on my blog that would make you laugh, so I went through my 'funny' folder in my e-mails, and came up with this one, hope you like it.
And for all that read it, if you've been to Walmart even once you will understand and appreciate the humor in it all. ENJOY:))

Busy, Busy
Well, my mom went for her doctors appointment on Monday. She has to have another heart cath this next Tuesday because her stress test showed another blockage. She is now staying with my aunt Donna and I took her dog Tipper back to my house. Fun fun. Now we have three dogs running around here and barking up a storm. I will get a picture of them all together. My moms dog is a little min pin. He's about the same size as our two dogs though so hes not taking up alot more space.
Next Monday after work I will head back to my moms house and not come back here till Thursday evening or Friday morning. Please keep my mother in your prayers and will post more later.
Received another funny in my email- hope you enjoy!!
WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED:
Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.
No wonder men are happier!!!

Busy weekend
Hiyas:)) Wow, this past weekend has been busy. Friday my mother called me and said that her cardiologist had called and told her they found some abnormal results on her recent stress test. She was told not to do anything this weekend, or go anywhere. So Chris and Nicole cbrought me over to her house Saturday morning so that I cold help her. I've enjoyed spending the time with her, I just wish it wasn't for this reason. We spent most of the day saturday and sunday wathcing movies. I did run to the store to get her some stuff, and bought us lunch.
Her appointment is at 1:30pm today , so we will have to see. Everytime this has happened in the past she has had to go in for another heart cath. If that is what the doctor deems necessary at the appointment today, then I may be over here for a longer period of time. Chris is going into my job for me today so no biggy there, but I do have to be back home by Thursday for my own test results. I had three tubes of blood drawn last week to check my cholesterol and thyroid and all that just to make sure im healthy:))
Will post more later today or tomorrow when I find out what the doctor wants to do. Just please keep her in your prayers.

The "New" Political Correctness
BE POLITICALLY CORRECT
Due to the climate of political correctness now pervading America , Kentucky , Tennesseans and West Virginians will no longer be referred to as "HILLBILLIES" or "REDNECKS."
You will now refer to them as APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS.
And furthermore ..
HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT WOMEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT:
1 She is not a "BABE" or a "CHICK" - She is a "DOUBLE BREASTED AMERICAN."
2. She is not a "DUMB BLONDE" - She is a "LIGHT-HAIRED DETOUR OFF THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY.."
3. She has not "BEEN AROUND" - She is a "PREVIOUSLY-ENJOYED COMPANION."
4. She does not "NAG" you - She becomes "VERBALLY REPETITIVE."
5. She is not a "TWO-BIT HOOKER" - She is a "LOW COST PROVIDER."
HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT MEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT:
1.He does not have a " BEER GUT" - He has developed a "LIQUID GRAIN STORAGE FACILITY."
2.He is not a "BAD DANCER" - He is "OVERLY CAUCASIAN."
3. He does not "GET LOST ALL THE TIME" - He "INVESTIGATES ALTERNATIVE DESTINATIONS."
4. He is not "BALDING" - He is in "FOLLICLE REGRESSION."
5. It's not his "CRACK" you see hanging out of his pants - It's "REAR CLEAVAGE."
So make sure ya'll talk right now, yahear? LMAO
Hope ya'll are having a great day:))

A Big Ol'Rock...
That is supposedly what I grew up under according to Chris. This is due to the fact that he has seen tons of movies. I thought I had too, until he started asking me some and I kept answering no, nope haven't seen that one, no no no. are you getting the picture of how this conversation went?
Mind you we have been together for 13 years and the rock is gradually growing smaller thanks to him. He loves classic movies, and I just didn't watch alot of those growing up. I still have never seen Oklahoma! or Ol'Yeller. I know of them but still have never seen them. With Chris's help I have seen Brigadoon, White Christmas and the Bells of St. Mary's, to name a few.
If I love a movie I can watch it many many times. My mother cannot understand this. My father was the same way. He would watch Errol Flynn and James Bond movies over and over. Guess thats one more way I'm like him. Chris will watch some movies over and over. One in particular is The Princess Bride, with Cary Elwes. We will all watch that one, its just a great movie. We also will watch Harry Potter over and over , doesn't matter which one.
I like movies that have dancing in them. So Chris is introducing me classic movies that have dancing in them, such as Singin' In The Rain. I get my love of dance from my mom, who loved to dance. Practically the whole courtship between Chris and I took place dancing. Mind you, the last time we danced together was two years ago at our friends wedding, not too long after Chris had his back surgery. But I still hope we can once again go out and dance like we used to. I will pray that my legs will hold up for one two step around a woooden dance floor.
But as for the rock, well I'm pretty sure it will always be there , but hopefuly will continue to grow smaller.
Have a great day!
Oh I nearly forgot in my rock ramblings to tell you about the new blog I found. I got it off of Dawn's blog. She actually met this fellow blogger in person and they both have pics on their websites. Hmm, coldn't get the linky thingy to work, will post it on my favorites in the sidebar. Anyway it is Manicmommy.blogspot.com.

Quiet Sunday Morning
Well, Nicole was still feeling a bit puny last night, so Chris is going to Church but Nicole and I are staying home. I really wanted to go today for the soup/chili cook off but that is ok because I have plenty to eat at home. And I don't have to run around and get dressed quickly and go out in the cold.
Those of you who know me know that I play a game called Everquest II, and one of the guys that Chris and I know via in game chat also has a blog that we have checked out and he is a pretty funny guy. Click here to check it out.
Anyway, hoping when Nicole wakes up she will be feeling alot better. She finished her medicine lastnight and will go back to school tomorrow barring anything else happening.
I intend on finishing laundry today and working in her room a bit. Thinking about what I will make for dinner... maybe cheddar smoked sausage and mashed potatoes? HMMM, now i'm hungry even though I just had a healthy breakfast of vanilla soy milk and wheaties, lol.
Will try to attach a funny video from the old cartoon Pinky and the Brain. It is a tongue twister, so I dare you to memorize it and try to say any of it without getting into some major trouble. If I can't get it on this post then I will put it above this one..
Take care and have fun...

My Sick Sweetie
Hiyas all. Nicole went back to school Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon they called saying she was in the nurses office with a tummyache and fever. We brought her home and put her straight to bed. She slept most of the evening away and eating very little. What she ate stayed where it was supposed to though, thank goodness. We took her to the doctor yesterday and they said she had an infection in her throat which could have been causing her tummyache, so she put her on antibiotics, and said to keep her out of school till Monday. She was eating a bit more by the evening time and got in the shower before I left for work today so hopefully she is on the mend.
The rest of us are feeling great.
This coming Sunday we are having a Soup and Chili cookoff at Church. Every year the same guy wins for his chili which is fantastic. We are entering a Brocoli/potato soup I have a recipe for so hopefully we have as good a chance as anyone.
Hope everyone is doing well. Will post more Sunday after the contest and I'll tell you the results

Off To A Good Start
Wow the new year is in full swing. Nicole is just now going back to school today. She has been out since December 20th. She is happy to be going back as she misses her teacher and friends. We are sad to see her go back, but are happy in the thought that at 4pm we will see a slightly smarter bear come home.
She had a pretty exciting vacation all in all. She spent a week with my mother and we just got her back Saturday. After we picked her up we all went to the show. Nicole and Chris went to see National Treasure two and I went with my friend Nannett to see P.S. I Love You. Mega chick flick but ... oh wow. Definitely have to take a tissue or two to that one if you go see it. It is highly recommended. I was never a big Hillary Swank fan and she plays the lead in this movie and does a fantastic job. The two Irish guys in there can be deemed hotties too. So there are many aspects of this movie you will enjoy. I've also read the book , which it follows pretty well.
Nothing much else is happening here. I am getting the film developed this next week so there will be new pictures up soon. Also I should soon be getting a picture of my two nieces in the identical hats I made them for Christmas. Hope everyone is doing well and will post more later.
I'm still crocheting away at the baby afghan for Breon too. I will for sure post a picture of that when I'm done with it.

Musings from 2007
First of all HAPPY 2008!!
The year seemed to go by very fast. First it was Valentines Day, then summer then Halloween. Kind of blew through it in a blur, but can't remember anything really bad happening.
Nicole is definately growing up which is a good thing , but shes growing very fast. She is developing her own sense of style which I am enjoying watching, but still has to pass mom approval. One day after school I remember fondly. It was one of those Texas days where it was just starting to hover in the 50s, and she came out of her bedroom wearing beige capris with a black and hot pink sweater. Now both things were really cute on her, but together? not so much. It was like she couldn't make up her mind if she was cold or hot. Or maybe she wanted to hang on to summer a bit longer. But I can see where she could get confused, if you dont' know Texas weather, it doesn't start getting really cold here till like November, so sometimes in november and really weird days in December we can go around in shirtsleeves and jeans with no jacket.
Anyway I am looking forward to this next year to see what she will discover and come up with, since she is 9 going on 16!! She is also taking keyboard lessons, and is doing good with those. She likes listening to Hannah Montana on her CD player, as well as watching the Tv show. She has such a vivid imagination, can't wait to see what will strike her fancy next. She loves to read, and will read just about anything. She is currently going through the first book of Harry Potter.
Chris and I got through the past year just fine. No major catastrophes. Our moms are doing great. I enjoy when my mother in law comes to visit, however it is less then either of us would like since the price of gas is so outrageous.
All my other relatives are doing great. My 15 year old cousin Mollie will turn 16 this year on January 22nd, which for all girls is a very special birthday. She attends Fort Worth Christiam Academy, along with her younger sister Kimberly who is 13. Mollie still plays competitive volleyball and is so awesome to watch ( shes 6'1"!!!). Kimberly performs with the Texas Girls Choir, and sings like an angel.
Oh well , thats it in a nutshell, will get some more pics up here soon. I am currently working on the baby blanket for Breon. Will definately get a picture of that up when its done..
