One Day At A Time
With mother Anne, daughters Julie and Barbara and Schneider the handy man?
Nicole and I were watching TV a few days ago and we happened across the Jenny Craig commercial with Valerie Bertinelli and she asked who she was because she hadn't ever seen her in anything...
So I was trying to tell her about ONe Day At A Time and came across this clip on YOutube - so turn my music off and have a good time watching an oldie but a goodie!

Comic Strip to Real Life?
I have since I was a child.
I read other parts of the paper too, but right now I'm focusing on the comics.
Because I think a comic strip character occasionally comes to reside in my house.
I'm sure most of you , at one time or another, have read the funny papers , and have come across The Family Circus by Bil Keane. If you have, I'm also sure you have seen the little ghost/gremlin named 'Not Me'.
Well Not Me came to visit me this weekend. I know he has been at my house before, but I havent' seen him in a long time till now.
( Mind you I AM NOT seeing little ghosts and goblins running around my house!)
BUT, Saturday morning, I went to make breakfast for Chris and I since Nicole was at Hot Chica's house, having spent the night with Carson. I used my butter flavored non-stick spray to coat the pan before I made eggs and sausage.
The non stick spray can was fine.
However, when I went to use it yesterday , the lid had a huge hole in it. I could barely get the lid off without cracking it further. I asked Chris if he had accidentaly dropped it. Nope was the answer I got. Ok, there ws only one other possibility - one guess as to who?
When I questioned the little 10 yr gremlin of mine, I got the 'not me' answer. She also answered that 'she had no reason to touch the non stick spray, so why would she break it.
'Not me' also doesn't rinse the dishes that he eats off of when putting them in the sink, and leaves dried stuff for me to try to scrape off.
'Not me' also doesn't lose the remote control, leave un-drunk sodas or juice around, accidentally leave the faucet running, forget to flush the toilet ( ok, that ones rare but it has happened), and also doesn't EVER, EVER use the last of the toilet paper and forget to put a new roll on.
Does 'Not me' ever make an appearance at your house?

EWWWW GROSSS!!!
She said yeah mom, but only like a quick kiss goodnight,or goodbye or whatever. I've never seen you making out , and in the kitchen too!
Let me just say here and now we were NOT making out , he just had his arms around my waist and mine were around his neck - they were legal - no petting, or anything else. Still she thought we were being gross.
I can't help it if I like to kiss my hubby - he is very kissable in my book! I remember one time not too long after we had begun dating that he took me to a concert at Cowboys Nightclub in Arlington to see the newly signed artist Tim McGraw. This was just after his first song had come out so he was still very new. Anyway, we were with a couple of friends and that night, and we danced, and kissed - alot. He was drinking Peppermint Schnapps and he tasted sooo good. Our friends kept telling us to go get a room, lol.
Sorry I digress... just saying I love to kiss Chris.
I also asked Nicole , wouldn't she rather see us kissing and know how much we love each other , than to hear us yell, fight and never touch?
She said "that's true, but still making out in the kitchen - I could have done without that."
Go figure. She'll figure it out on her own someday.

Home, but not Alone
Why, oh Why could she not have gotten sick over the holidays when she was already home? I hate for her to miss school. Not that I want her sick, but she only has a partial week anyway! They get out after half a day this coming Thursday and don't go back till next Tuesday due to Monday being Martin Luther King day. ( Friday is a teacher inservice...)
I thought yesterday she was just having a bad allergy attack, but the allergy meds weren't doing the trick, so lastnight I tried plain old Robitussin for stuffy nose and cough. She slept better then she did the night before! I know there are alot of new fanlged drugs out there, but you just can't beat the original stuff, that our moms gave us when we were sick.
I did get the hubby off to work though. He only worked half day yesterday too because his boss could tell how bad he was hurting and sent him home.
I already have the dishes done, and I've showered and am dressed and am currently working on a crocheted hat for my MIL. She bought this absolutely beautiful dark green leather jacket she found on sale and has pretty dark brown gloves that go well with the coat, but the blue and green hat I had made her before to go with another of her jackets doesn't match this one, so she wanted me to make her one that matched the gloves.
After I make that I have a dog sweater to make , then a baby blanket. I'm excited about the baby blanket, as it is for a bloggy friend, who is also becoming a RL friend. I won't tell who, but its for her first grandchild, as she is NOT having a baby, lol.
I will post pics of it when I'm done though, and tell you who its for. If she wants to blog about it before then thats totally up to her.
A few things before I sign off though, please head on over to my RL friends blog and give Eden lots of cyber hugs and prayers as she is going thru some difficult struggles atm, and needs the extra comfort...
also, my friend Allison is adopting a new puppy, as her beloved Gracie passed away not too long ago from a rare doggy disease. They won't get the puppy till around Valentines Day, but they need help naming her. They've narrowed it down to two, so go cast your vote HERE for your favorite.
Oh yeah, if you haven't signed up to follow Michelle at SoS, and her new and upcoming web show, that premiers this coming Friday, please go sign up NOW!!!
Heres to hoping ya'll have a great day!!

I'm Still Around
I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth, just took a few days hiatus from the blogosphere.
I had a blast this weekend. I guess with the price of gas over the summer , and with Chris only working till school started back up I had gotten in the habit of just going around my town , staying very local to do shopping and whatnot. Also having a not very reliable car can do that too.
I had been to the mall two weeks ago to drop off my ring to get sized. I didn't stay at the mall though, as I had absolutely NO desire to shop around , get tempted by mall carts holding unknown goodies of the food and non-food varieties. I dropped off my ring and left.
I was supposed to go pick it up this past Saturday and Nicole decided to go with me since there was a Target nearby. She wanted to spend some of her Christmas money on clothes for her Our Generation doll. ( Kathryn now looks adorable in her new daytime outfit and her new jammies btw)
I told Nicole that we weren't going to do alot of walking in the mall, since I still don't have my new braces back yet...
She hadn't been to the mall either in so long, I just said the hell with it. We parked down by Barnes and Nobles, and went in there , which is always a treat. We browsed, drooled a bit and went on into the mall.
We walked, we talked, we laughed. We had a great time together.
We went into Build-A-Bear; we got tempted by some of the food carts in the middle and had a cookie or two; we also got sucked in to having a lady play with our hair to show off a $200 flat iron - sorry chica, but I'll stick with my $20 one from Wallie World - it does the trick.
We inhaled the tempting smell of Cinnabon, peeked in the window of Claires, and rode the glass elevator ( Nicole has issues with escalators...).
Oh yeah, and we picked up my ring - which is what we went there for in the first place.
Isn't it purdy?

We then left the mall and went to Target. We got home late in the afternoon, a little tired but exhilerated from our time out and together. We have to do that more often.
Unfortunately Chris didn't go with us. Thursday I had to take him to the doctor for a pain in his side. He had had it since Tuesday, after moving some heavy things at work. We were told he has a torn abdominal wall muscle. The doctor told him he couldn't go back to work till today, and just to take it easy over the weekend so it didn't get worse and turn into a hernia.
He went to work today but was still hurting. Here's to hoping he will get better - I know things like that take time to heal.
Everythign else is going great, and heres to hoping everyone had a great weekend.
Oh yeah, and if you didn't happen to catch this picture on my Facebook page, here is proof that our dog Cooper really is a princess...
