Short and to the point

Good morning to all. This isn't going to be a really long post. I've been up since 430 am when nicole ,( who decided she wanted to sleep in my bed lastnight) threw up all over her side of the bed. Oh well , I was going to wash and change the bedsheets todayanyway, just didn't want to do it at500 am.
She is back asleep again after getting sick a few more times, she also seems to be running a slight fever so more than likely she won't be going to school tomorrow.

I did get my reallyadorable keyring from mymommysbraceletslcom(sp?) and will post a picture of it later today or tomorrow.
I'm on the last few pages of Sleeping with Ward Cleaverand have enjoyed it immensly.
Thanks tothe author Jenny Gardiner for commenting on that post and helping a new reader of mine to find the book in the UK.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday:))

Where to start...

I have so much to yap about, trying to think where to start, lol.

First off I guess I'll have to mention something that has got me kind of giddy. Anyone that knows me knows that I read all the time ( at least when Im not crocheting, blogging, playing EQII, working, spending time with family). I have some authors that I will read a lot but am always on the look out for new books. Thanks to Manic Mommy, I've been getting a lot of good book ideas lately. One title in particular stood out to me, so I ordered it off Amazon.com.
It is called Sleeping With Ward Cleaver. It is hilarious. I'm not done with it yet but will surely be sad when I am, and thirsting for more from Jenny Gardiner, my new favorite author:)) This is even more so since I had e-mailed manic and told her I was reading it. She forwarded my e-mail to the author her self, who in turn wrote me !!! She said to let her know if I did mention her and the book in a post of mine and she would come over and post something. How cool is that?? Way cool on my meter!!

Ok, second thing. Remember the blog party in the not too distant past?? Well I actually won something that I am waiting for to be sent to me.
I won a $25 gift certificate from a really neat jewelry sight. It is mymommysbracelets.com,
Check out her website. She has so much beautiful stuff on there. I like keychains and chose one for her to make me, to represent my family. I will post a picture of it when I receive it.

Third thing is that if you haven't visited Karen Deborah at her blog you need to. She is very sweet and does fun loving posts. Has a very positive attitude about life. Check her out here.

And last, but far from least, I will also be having a contest here shortly. I have most of the details worked out, along with the prize. I will let you all know when it starts, ends, and what you will get , etc, on my 100th post, which will be very soon since this is #92!!

Ok, this is my last day off before I have to go back to work tomorrow. The dishes are done. The laundry is washed. Folded? NO, but it will be this evening. I do have Weight Watchers tonight and am doing well in my opinion. I haven't had a potato chip in THREE WEEKS!! I thought I needed at least one dose of Nacho Cheese Doritos per week in order to survive. Obviously not. I'm also eating whole wheat bread, whole grain cereal, drinking soy milk, and eating more lean protein. I know what I need to do , I just need to take it one day at a time and keep telling myself that it will come off:))
Hubby is very supportive of me , and is helping me be conscious of the choices I make.

Hope everyone has a great day!!
Stay tuned!

WHEW!!

Wow, I love celebrating Easter and all but I am so glad the actual running around, multiple egg hunts, tons of candy, tons of food is gone.
I will post lots of pictures from this past weekend as there were a lot taken and are really cute. We got to see family Sunday that we hadn't seen in awhile so that was fun, we ate more food, had yet another egg hunt for Nicole and then went fishing. Early Monday morning (about 1am), I awoke to a grumbling tummy that was none too happy with all the food I had given it that weekend so needless to say I went to work yesterday on about 2 hours of sleep. Nicole was still home one more day for Spring break so when we got home yesterday I told her she was old enough to know when she needed me , and that she could have a last day before back to school to watch TV , read, play dressup , whatever as long as she let me sleep. I went to sleep around 3 and woke up aroudn 6 when Chris got home from work.
I am feeling much better today, thank goodness.

Will post some pictures from the party we went to at Hot Chica's house Saturday. There were alot of very nice people and a lot of very good food. There was a huge bounce house, and an enormous amount of plastic eggs to hide. Unfortunately her front yard isn't that large, so when you see the pictures you will see how we very artfuly used the trees and bushes around the front of the house to hold the eggs. The kids had a blast. Carson pulled the final string on the pinata that broke it open and got knocked over in the process of all the kids rushing to get candy. No accidents occurred though.

So look for the pictures at a later time .
Have a great day.

(WOW can't believe this is my 91st post, only 9 more to go till that big 100. Maybe thats when I will announce my contest)

Hoppy (almost) Easter:))

I know Easter isn't for two more days but I am thinking I will either be too busy or too tired to post in the next few days. My MIL just got here a few hours ago and is keeping the kiddo entertained while I have a casserole in the oven for tomorrow, and I still have two chocolate cream pies to put cool whip on and make up a batch of overnight french toast. All of that minus one pie is being taken to the party we are invited to tomorrow at Yvette's house. She is the mom of the other adorable girl Carson pictured with my daughter in some older posts. (Check out her blog here!)

Tomorrow morning before the party I have my Church ladies monthly meetings. Normally I love going to these but I am a little nervous about this one tomorrow. You see, I am not good speaking in front of a bunch of people, even ones I know , and I am supposed to lead the worship lesson tomorrow. I have planned it out and think its ok but still.. ARGH!!!

Then after the meeting, and we go to the party, we are going to my mothers house so we can see her. I haven't seen her in about 3 weeks , and we are taking her out to dinner , so that should be fun.
Then Sunday we are headed down to Cedar Creek lake because Chris' grandfather and uncle are supposed to be there and we need to see his grandfather every chance we get.

All in all I am looking forward to this weekend, as nuts as it may be. And DUH I almost forgot it is Chris' 40th birthday tomorrow, so he will get sung too at the party:)) If you stop in give him some birthday wishes.

Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!

How gud a spelr ar yu????

I thought this quiz was really cute. Normally I am a very good speller. When something isn't spelled correctly in my blog posts it is usually due to my typing skills, not my spelling skills. Have fun!!

Btw I'm still going to have that contest I previously spoke about, and I know what the prize is going to be. However the prize is handmade and I will have to have the time to make it. But it will be posted here soon, so keep a look out!!

Hers the quiz:

Your Spelling is Good

You got 9/10 correct.

Your spelling is generally pretty decent. You are prone to a few mistakes, but the mistakes you make are pretty forgivable.

Thought for the day...

My Weight Watchers leader always refers back to this saying and if you think about it is soooo true...

IF YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE
YOU WILL ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS GOT!!!!

Think about it. Really. It could be in regards to weight loss, or some other major life style change. Can be taken to be a good thing or a bad thing. Are you comfortable with change?

I'm really trying hard with Weight Watchers. I love going to my weekly meetings and knowing that I'm not alone helps me. I'm soo proud of my hubby for having lost 100+ lbs, but he didn't do it thru W.W. He has kept it off for more than a year now, and I finally said hey, help me. I know how to eat good but sometimes I still make bad (food) choices, please help me realize some better ones. I only asked him for help for the last week before my Thursday night weigh in, and I lost .4 lbs. Doesn't seem like a whole lot, but when I normally gain anywhere from 2-3 lbs during this week of the month then actually having a loss ( of any size) put me in a fantastic mood.

Well, enough on my ramblings, I do have a contest coming up. I know what its going to be about, just trying to work out the prize. Ya'll take care.

My Day off with Hubby

I am enjoying Chris being back to work. I also am enjoying the fact that we have at least one day off a week together. Yesterday was one of those days. I had planned on taking the kids to school ( I switch off with another mom), going directly to the grocery store, coming home, crocheting a bit, finishing the book I'm reading, and/or playing on the internet.
Chris decided he was going grocery shopping with me which I was fine with. It's funny how it went though. We drop the kids at school. I say "ok, now to walmart"
(hubby) "can we stop by Home Depot first? I want to check out the stoves, see if I can get the stuff to fix ours"
(*NOTE* I only have one burner on a four burner stove that is currently working , it is a very old stove, and we are currently trying to figure out how to fix and/or replace it*)
(me) "sure we can go there first"
We proceeded to spend the next 30 mins or so perusing the appliance aisle. Foudn the stuff that we needed to fix the stove for a lot less than we originally anticipated ( always a a good thing!). Then we picked up a switch for a fan light that is broken. Then we picked up light bulbs. Then as we were on our way to the check out counter, he passed a display of tols. Great buy for $10 he remarks. If you don't know what to get me for my birthday I'd like that. I decided to make his day and I bought it even though I already know what my MIL and I are getting him. He was happy , he got a new tool.

We then proceeded to Walmart to do the grocery shopping. First we had to run around to get non-food items in different areas of the store. While I was doing that he said he was going to go to the sports area. Ok. No clue why he was going there but also didn't really care. I go get all the non-food items, and meet him by electronics, where he walks up with a new golf bag. Now he loves to play golf , but hasn't done so in a long time do to his back problems( he had back surgery in 2006). He recently bought Nicole her own golf bag and clubs. He did need a new bag, and it was a reduced price, so no biggy. Then he found these shorts he fell in love with. He got those too.
(we had already been there almost 30 minutes-with no groceries)
So we finally get around to getting actual food. That part actually went fast, and we wound up getting home just around lunch time. We had planned on going out to lunch, but after buying over $100 worth of groceries we decided to eat something we had just bought, lol.
I get home, he carries ALL the groceries in and while I unpack them all he starts inspecting his new golf bag with little exclamations of "cool, its got an ice pack for water bottles, and a pocket for my cell phone". Then he pull sout his early birthday present and proceeds to see if the stuff we got at home depot will work on the stove.
He agreed to go get the kids after school, and I made a Blueberry Buckle, and made scalloped eggplant that was to go with our dinner. Then I started the pork chops, did dishes and got to sit down all of about 10 minutes off and on. Then I ate dinner and went to Bell Choir at Church. ( notice I hadn't crocheted OR read at all yet? lol)
When I got home from Bell Choir rehearsal around 715 or so I finally got to sit down and start crocheting. I didn't get a chance to finish my book till this morning.
I had a great day off with Chris, it just didn't go as planned. Hopefully today will, that I will get to play on the puter, read and crochet in between loads of laundry.

Hope ya'll are enjoying the blog party over at 5 minutes for mom. If you haven't gone by there yet , its a blast. Please scroll down to my party post and go check them out!! There are tons of cool women over there that are also partying and there are TONS of giveaways.

SNOW!!

Here in the DFW metroplex we hardly ever get snow. Usually we get ice. It's more common north of here in the Panhandle and such. However last Thursday and Friday we got actual snow. Some areas farther north than my town got as much as 6-9", we only got about 1-2", but it was very pretty. I'm originally from Chicago, IL. so I know real snow, but my daughter is still waiting to get enough snow for a real snow ball fight, or to make snow angels.
I did have fun with her Friday morning before school though, she was trying to pack a snowball, I knew how and got a pretty good size one and told her her to run and I hit her square in the back. Of course all that got me was two handfuls of snow thrown back at me but it was all in fun.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm trying to plan out the logistics of a fun contest. And think of a prize. Will let ya'll know more soon!!

A Small Plea and a Contest

Ok, I know people visit my blog. I see the counter on the side going up all the time, it is now over 600. The problem? I don't get that many comments, so I have NO CLUE who is visiting my blog. I'd really like to know and it doesn't cost anything to sign up for a Google account so you can post a comment. My blog even accepts anonymous posts, so please please please leave me your thoughts, link me to your blog or whatever. I'd really love to hear from ya'll!!

Ok, now the contest part. Checked out a new blog today. Her codename is Peach, and she has a contest going right now through Sunday the 9th. If you go over to her blog and read what she posted along with the other entries you will laugh so hard you might just pee a bit ( I didn't but it's possible if you laugh hard enough).
I entered her contest and had alot of fun remembering those two stories.
Anyway, will try to post some pictures of this morning when we actually had SNOW covering our lawn. It was all gone by this afternoon but the weatherman is saying we might get more.
Take care and LEAVE A COMMENT:))

Movie Fun

Evening all!! Gosh its been a few days since I last did a post , but I've been busy. Tonight I watched a great movie with Nicole - Sixteen Candles with Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall. This is one of my favorite movies of the 80's. I have a few more but this is one that I thought Nicole would enjoy. She loved it. It brought back alot of memories of those years for me too. It was made in 1984, so I was in 7th grade, that seems an awful long time ago.
But here is a few clips from that movie that I pulled of YouTube. If you want, leave me a comment with some of your favorite 80's movies, clips or whatever and link me back to your blog.

Ya'll have a great night, will post more later
